We have not determined for sure who were the father and grandfather of James (III),  but are leaning toward James Jr. and James Sr. who appear in Charles Co. MD records.   James Sr. was probably the brother of Peter Carrico (II).  There are very few records on these two James, however.  We have pretty well ruled out James the III being descended from either James of Peter or James of John in Maryland.
